GRATEFUL MOM

This past week was a whirlwind of trying to cram events and activities into one week of our son Keith and his family's visit with us.  As wonderful as it was to have them all the way from Detroit, MI there was some things that rise to the top of our time together.  What a joy to be with  our daughter-in-law Heidi and our grandchildren Graceanne (5) and little Wil (7 mo).  It was very hard seeing them leave but the reason for this blog is to Praise the Lord for the opportunity He made for our son Keith to fulfill the call on his life.
I still remember many years ago picking Keith up from high school football practice and his turning to me and saying, "Mom, I believe that the Lord has called me to the ministry."  It wasn't a total shock but I knew that it may not be an easy road to follow but my heart swelled inside to think that the Lord would allow the call on my life to minister, would also be given to my son.
Because he has a wonderful gifted voice, that he specifically asked the Lord to give him, he was the Worship leader at our church (Christian Center) for a year before following that leading to go to Christ for the Nations in Dallas, Tx.  It was there that he met his future wife, Heidi and after they graduated... they married and he did serve as a youth pastor in a couple of churches.
Later they moved back to Detroit for Heidi to go back to college and get her degree in Architectural Design.  Work and children followed and even though the heart and desire to minister was always there... opportunity was not always there. They have been faithful at their church in Michigan where he serves in the praise and worship team.  But as a minister myself I knew how difficult it was for him to not have the opportunity to teach the Word and minister to people.
Well this past week was a fulfillment of that desire as the Lord opened up three doors for Keith to sing and teach.  Actually I knew he was tremendously gifted as a singer and he did a wonderful job of that at our church (Celebration Church) but I had never heard him teach before and I got to experience the greatest joy a mother could have; hearing him teach under a genuine anointing at Life Tabernacle on Wednesday night.  He also ministered in the Friday Morning service of TLC and again I was thrilled, amazed and so GRATEFUL to see the fulfillment of that statement he made to me as a teenager.
Now you may not be as interested in this as my husband and I were but I wanted to put this down in writing to, not only share, but to give thanks to the Lord for His blessing to give Keith these opportunities.
His younger brother and his family were also faithful to attend the Wednesday night service at Life Tabernacle. For those of you that do not know Life Tabernacle is the place of our spiritual roots.  For Keith to minister there was beyond amazing! That is where both our boys grew up and also grew in the Lord.  I can tell you this Mom is tremendously thankful that both my sons  are men of God who love their families, honor God in their lives and are training up their children in the knowledge of God.
So, OK, this is "Just Jeanie" for sure.  Just Jeanie giving Praise and Thanks to God for His goodness and grace! Thank you Lord for allowing me to see the legacy of our love for YOU continuing to the next generation!  To God be the Glory...Great Things He Has Done!

Psalm 127:3  Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.

A New Day

Today starts a new day for TLC Ministry.  We have established a page on Facebook. I would love for you to check it out and "like" it.  It's amazing to me how much I have come to appreciate the ability to re-connect to so many through this network.  I have always believed that networking (reaching, teaching, touching and keeping) is so much a part of needed fellowship and sharing. So thanks to new technology we have a avenue to do just that.  I know it doesn't take the place of face to face or other means of communication but it has been a blessing to me to find and share the lives of many who I have lost touch with over the years.
I want to thank my son Keith for helping bring his mother into the future and dragging me from the "olden days."  I am looking forward to the opportunity to share what the Lord is doing through our ministry and to make it possible to encounter others who are invested in sharing the Good News of the Gospel.
So here's to more times together. Amen - So be it!
